I have a 3.5ft x 5ft 1920c picture with a brass plaque that reads ” MT INDEX on the main line Great Northern RY Route of the NEW ORIENTAL LIMITED” this came from my grandmothers estate, who owned the hilltop tavern in the 60’s east of everett in the South lake Stevens Area, on south lake Stevens road near the hwy 2 bridge. This tavern burned to the ground in the mid sixties and was not rebuilt. She also owned several taverns in Everett. She acquired the picture from the owner of the Index Tavern many years ago. It was believed that it once hung in the train depot in index. I would like to sell this picture with the brass plaque. Please let me know if you have any interest in this piece. It is a spectacular shot of MT. INDEX in the back ground with the river, R&R tracks, and early car On reader road. It is a very large panoramic picture. I believe this piece was commissioned by the Great Northern RY for the Index Washington Station in the 1920’s to promote the New Oriental Limited Which ran between the Pacific NW and Chicago.
